Elijah Woods To Reprise Role As Frodo Baggins in ‘The Hobbit’

I love it when they bring it all together like this. Yesterday, it was reported that Warner Bros. would be footing the entire $500 million dollar bill for the “The Hobbit”, staring Martin Freeman and directed by Peter Jackson. Now it seems that we have confirmation that Elijah Woods will be making cameos in both films reprising the role of Frodo Baggins from the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Woods will appear as Frodo in the opening sequences of each film as the person that the story of “The Hobbit” is being told to, well along with us right. From there the possibilities become endless to see how they can work in some subtle foreshadowing for what was to come later.

Originally, many believed that the films would be a two part adaptation where the first story told the story of ‘The Hobbit” and the second film would bring it all together and connect the dots as to how it related to Lord Of The Rings. That doesn’t seem to be the case now though, as it has been confirmed that it will just be a two part telling of J.R.R. Tolkien’s original work. So there  you have it folks, Woods is back, the film has an outragous budget and we have nothing but time on our hands.

The two films are set to begin production in February, with release dates targeted for December 2012 and December 2013. Both will be filmed in Digital 3D. So you tell us what do you think about these recent developments and what would you like to see in “The Hobbit”? Do you want more or less tie in to the Lord Of The Rings?
