If leaks and rumors about the HTC Thunderbolt are accurate, the delay behind Verizon Wireless’ first LTE device is the result of terrible battery life. From reports to Engadget, the HTC Thunderbolt battery is only lasting about “two to three hours from full to empty in some cases … making it difficult for testers to avoid carrying a second phone.” What’s to blame for this? Perhaps the LTE radio, or maybe it’s just HTC! One of the devices that I have is the HTC Droid Incredible, and the battery life sucks (still one of the best smartphones).
Additionally, information about a new firmware update for the HTC Thunderbolt, which would “address battery life and signal issues”, have been leaked. Hopefully, all of this can be resolved and the HTC Thunderbolt will be released on the latest rumored date, March 10th. Make sure you stay tuned!
