Kelly Clarkson’s Latest Album Delayed Till September

kelly-clarksonSorry all you Kelly Clarkson fans but it seems you are going to have to wait quite a bit longer to hear the singer’s latest album. Clarkson announced today that her highly anticipated fifth album has been delayed until September, this comes as most expected it to be out out in the first or second quarter of the year. Clarkson didn’t give any particular reason for the delay other than saying that “apparently that is the best time to release it”. I’m guessing that is what the record company is saying anyway.

No need to worry though as Clarkson says that the album is done and recorded so it isn’t that kind of delay. The only thing we can think of is that the record company wants to use her album release to boost sales during a projected weak period in their release calendar. Info on the album is scarce but she has said that it will feature a cover of Eric Hutchinson’s “Why Don’t You Try” and is heavily “influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead and there’s a little bit of a Country vibe/influence on a couple of songs.” She also shot down the rumors that the album would be called “May” saying that the name was stupid.

So what do all you Clarkson fans think of the delay?
