AOL Replacing Talent As Tech Giant “Engadget” Loses Editor-In-Chief, Joshua Topolsky & Other Bloggers
Whether or not we look back on this day as a good thing or bad thing for Engadget, it will still mark a major change in the tech giant’s future. Today, we got a welcome from the new editor-in-chief, Tim Stevens, as the old editor-in-chief, Joshua Topolsky, leaves to pursue other adventures. In addition to Topolsky’s departure, Nilay Patel, Paul Miller, Joanna Stern, Ross Miller, Chris Ziegler, Justin Glow and Dan Chilton have all left the comfort zone of AOL, and joined Topolsky in new ventures with SB Nation.
However, AOL has not been coy about recruiting and replacing the talent they lost. In addition to Tim Stevens, AOL has brought on staffers Richard Lai, Myriam Joire, Christopher Trout, Dana Wollman, Brian Heater, Brett Terpstra, and Paul Heuts. Joshua Fruhlinger, editorial director, states that “Engadget is nonstop.” With that, I guess we will just have to wait and see how much this change will hurt or help Engadget.
